NOTAMS - NOTICES TO AIRMEN - These detail planned airspace restrictions and navigational warnings - issued by NATS

"Checking NOTAMs is a fundamental responsibility for every pilot. NOTAMs warn of various hazards and changes which may affect your flight on a particular day - including changes which, if ignored, could actually endanger either the pilot or other aviators. Access to the UK AIS Website is free but requires simple and rapid one off registration for NOTAM checking."

Low Level Civil Aircraft Notification Procedure (CANP)

Where five or more civil aircraft plan to operate at a site which is not normally used, or will be outside the published hours, the Low Flying Booking Cell (LFBC) at RAF Wittering should be notified at least 4 hours before flying commences on 0800 515544, by Freefax on 0800 3892225 or e-mail to

witlfos-lfbc@wittering.raf.mod.uk

enabling them to issue a warning to military pilots of the activity.

E-mail is the preferred method for notification of recreational activities - in the format below :-

B BOSTON (WYBERTON FEN) AIRFIELD
  520 58’ 28” N, 0000 04’ 22” W (or give OS Grid Co-ordinates)
C  2NM RADIUS
D 6TH FEBRUARY 2008 - 1100 TO 1730 (specify UTC or local time)
E  2000’ AGL (this is the maximum they will accept)
F EXPECTED NUMBER OF PARAMOTORS - 5 (minimum number must be 5)
G CONTACT Your telephone number - Your Name - Your e-mail address
