Runway is adjacent to Sports Stadium and Rugby pitches - beware of persons on the runway at all times. When large events take place on the adjacent sports fields the airfield will be closed for the duration of the event - please PPR before departure.

Paramotor Operations

Paramotors have an airspeed of 20 to 30 kts and a stall speed as low as 10kts - take-off and landing is almost always directly into wind which may be cross-runway and so line up may be initially clear of the runway line.

In flight they are sensitive to rotor and may be operated engine off in convective conditions once airborne. They are also adversly affected by prop wash and wake turbulence.

They have a ceiling well in excess of 5000'. They have a glide ratio of around 5:1 but may lose height rapidly using various techniques including spirals .

They may bleed off height using s-turns near the threshold. Often such approaches are engine off and some are unable to restart in flight so they may be unable to hold off or go around - look for a stationary prop!

There are novice paramotor pilots at the field.
